Vistamaxx 6202 performance polymer is an olefinic elastomer produced using ExxonMobil Chemical's proprietary metallocene catalyst technology. Calcium stearate is generally utilized as a stabilizer, lubricant, and release agent in numerous industries such as plastics, cosmetics, food, and pharmaceuticals.
USES:
a) Mold Release Agent — In the manufacturing of numerous products such as plastics, rubber, and other composite substances, calcium stearate acts as a model release agent. It tends to create a thin film between the mold and the substance, stimulating the smooth release of the end product from the surface of the mold. This reduces sticking and enhances production efficiency.
b) Lubrication — Calcium stearate is a versatile chemical compound and therefore, it serves as a great lubricant as well. It helps in reducing friction between surfaces and particles. Calcium stearate helps in improving the flow characteristics of powders and also prevents the ingredients from sticking with each other at the time of processing. This particular property is generally considered valuable in industries like plastics, where it promotes the easy extrusion and molding of substances.
c) Stabilization — As a stabilizer, calcium stearate aids in the maintenance of texture, structure, and consistency in multiple products. It also helps in avoiding phase changes or separation in mixtures, offering resilience and prolonging the life span of formulations.
